God vs. Evolution - Are all created equal?

How is that for a title?

So the Pope and the President of the United States both believe in evolution of some sort. At least that is what they say in press conferences and such. They both also claim a belief in God.

I have to say I have a problem with this line of thinking. To me it’s more of, “I will claim to believe whatever works best in that moment.”

It is easy to take a stand on something when the masses are in agreement. Go and ask someone what they know about evolution and you will find very quickly that it is more about faith than science. If people would accept Christ at His word the way they do scientist’s sound bytes that cannot be proven, the world would be a far better place.

Let’s begin this discussion with equality. God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; (Acts17:24-26)

So God, THE God created all people equally. We are not defined by our gender or skin tone but by the content of our Hearts and what we do with that.

Evolution defines things differently. Here is the problem. I could go on for days because there are so many rabbit trails to this. Darwin, by modern standards, would most likely be deemed a racist for his theories because they basically indicate that people of different skin colour are at different levels of evolution. Some higher and some lower. Now to be fair, oh wait, we don’t have to be fair, because according to the evolutionary theories we are essentially just animals. We just are at different levels of consciousness and awareness and the “strong” will survive and thrive.

For the record, there has never been a successful demonstration of the evolutionary process. Therefore we have no empirical evidence. By this I mean there has never been an observed case of an increase in genetic material. Only has loss been recorded.

Now if I’m sounding biased, I am. I’m a Christian and this is what I blog.

That being said, the evidence is there, lots of data to sift through and you should. After all, I used to believe in evolution, now I don’t! The evidence for creation convinced me.

But, how do you explain billions of years like the scientists say? Well, the better question is: how do they explain billions of years? Isotope dating, carbon dating can be accurate. The only problem is that it is based on the assumption of the start date. That’s right. The start date is assumed without empirical evidence to support. If memory serves me correctly it is something like 4.36 billion years. But, that is an assumption. Even if it were a correct assumption, it would be incorrect because it is based on a meteor rock which could have been formed after the universe started.

Not only that, if you use 2 different dating processes deemed “accurate” by the scientific community you would assume they would give you the same date. WRONG! Do the research for yourself.

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. (Genesis 1:1-4)

But let’s be clear about things because I’m about to make my point!

  • Society says – for the most part people are good
  • Our society accepts evolution ( in some variation or another) which says – people are pretty much animals just trying to survive and “good” is a relative term dictated by society.
  • The Bible says – people are inherently wicked in need of a saviour to restore them to fellowship with a Loving God!

Now, look around the world and read the news see what’s happening. Tell me which of the above statements looks to be the most accurate.

Also remember “science” means “knowledge”, not blind faith in things that cannot be proven.

In closing I just have to say:

  • Evolution says all men are not equal.
  • God says You are all created equal in God’s likeness and you are loved.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
