The Legislation we Need

Sticks and stones legislation!
I can’t watch the news any more. I am so sick about the things that are going on that I am almost apathetic to it. I am going numb due to the bombardment of hatred, violence and anger I see around the world. I can’t help but cleave to the thought that this world is not our home. The way things are going I find great comfort in that!
So here we are again. Another mentally unstable individual guns down a bunch of people. What is the first thing that comes up? Not that he was targeting Christians. I’m sure the back
story will include a lengthy battle with mental illness but no. GUN CONTROL! If only we had better gun control the world would be a better place right? Does anybody really believe that? I don’t. I have seen people do horrible things to each other with sticks and stones! Should we enact the sticks and stone control legislation?
The problem isn’t the destructive tool that is used. It is the condition of the heart and mind of those using it.
The Bible says, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9 KJV
We are wicked by nature. Now, combine that with untreated mental illness and you have a powder keg. If you take away a weapon, a person will find another to take its place. Guns are illegal in Great Britain. Stabbings and beatings are at an all time high. We don’t see the stories because the numbers are lower but the condition still exists. We just find it easier to swallow because the impact is less on our subjective morality.
So where does this condition come from? “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.” Psalms 14:1 KJV
God. THE God has placed His moral laws in our hearts! Man desperately wants to deny God’s existence, especially in this age of corruption and self serving. Why? Because he wants to
silence the truth in his heart and mind and live as he sees fit. It has been this way since the fall of man. It just appears to be at its worst. The next passage makes it clear, this is not new but it continues to go mostly untreated in our world:
“In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.” Judges 17:6 KJV
We do not honour our King. We become our own god and our rules fit to that which we want them. Does anybody see a problem here?
We are living in a deceptively ordered chaos. We think we have order but there is none. We think we have rules but they are of no effect. God in Heaven sets the mark and the
world is missing it big time.
Speaking of time, we are running out of it and the answer for the world’s problems is clear. Jesus came to earth from Heaven a little over 2000 years ago with a single mission. TO SAVE US FROM OURSELVES AND GOD’S JUDGEMENT! The God of all creation came down to take the punishment for His law that we may be free from the bondage of sin
and corruption. Jesus is and has always been the answer to the problems of the world.
He came to save the lost. The first time He came to lay down His life and take the wrath of God the Father for every sin past, present and future. He asks nothing of you in return but to simply humble yourself, recognize your need of a saviour then accept the free gift of salvation. No work or obligations are required. You don’t have to earn or pay him back. He will CHANGE YOUR HEART and you will desire to work and serve him. That’s the beauty of Christ, He does the work and you receive the benefit.
Time is short. The first time he came to serve. The second time He is coming to RULE.
“I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;” 2 Timothy 4:1 KJV
You cannot fix a problem by removing the symptoms, you can only fix a problem by curing the disease!
That disease, my friend, is sin. Sin is a word that not many people understand anymore. So let me help. Sin is anything that is contrary to the will of God. So, our rule book doesn’t
apply. Only His does.
I beg you look into Jesus before it’s too late. He won’t make you rich or loved by many. He won’t fix all of your problems. He will change your heart, mind and world view. He
will make you whole and prepare a place for you in His Kingdom.
“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. John 3:17-19 KJV
Will you this day choose light over darkness, love over hate? Time is short.
