“Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father.
There is no shadow of turning with Thee.
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not.
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.”
(Great is Thy Faithfulness, Thomas Chisholm)
Lord I was reminded of Your faithfulness and mercies in the event of the past few days. A car accident with no injuries. You stopped the rain for a vacation Bible school while the whole surrounding area got soaked.
A young couple testified how they might lose their jobs due to vaccine mandates. But they are at peace while their co-workers are distraught. You bless and protect in so many ways that I don’t stop to recognize.
We give You thanks and praise that You are faithful. Your mercies endure for ever.
We are in uncertain times I say, but when are ever really in certain times? You LORD are the only certainty we have (or need). Who shall we turn to? You have the words of eternal life.
We do pray for Your help this week. Help us be real honest with what we are struggling with. But let us not stay there. May we be motivated to cry out to You in prayer and dig into Your Word.
Holy Spirit alert us to dangers that we might stay clear. Unite us around truth. Let us not follow the culture and become segregated, divided, and fighting each other. We admit that at best we see things through our own bias.
We look to You to lead us.
Great is Thy faithfulness
Amen
